I have been using K-Pak products for over 5 years now. I relax and color my hair (Base color and two highlights)and constantly get compliments from people about how long, thick, shiny and healthy my hair is. I recently stopped using it to try and "save money" WHAT A MISTAKE. I relaxed and later colored my hair and it started breaking right in the front of my hair. I instantly regretted my choice to stop using my hair savior of products.I recommend this to EVERYONE I know who is having hear health problems. It has saved my hair from it's damaged state in just a couple weeks of uses. When I first started using this product over 5 years ago, my hair was porous, breaking, fried and just overall ugly! I went from my hot mess of a head to bouncy, shinny, strong and long hair. It works. I do not care how much it costs it is all I will EVER use....

I have long, coarse, wavy here and there, thick hair. No product I've ever used has worked like this one. I couldn't believe the difference it made. My hair has never looked this good. I distributed about 2 pumps worth through my damp hair, let it air dry and then used the flat iron like I usually do. This product made styling my hair less time-consuming, and it looks SO good. I'll be using this, and only this, from now on. I highly recommend!

This is one of the best conditioners for dry damaged winter hair. It softens and is better than the reconstructor because you can use it every day. It also smells amazing! It seems to melt into your hair and detangles mine. The only thing I would say is wrong with it is that I dont use it when I want to wear my hair curly because it takes out the natural curl of my wavy hair. otherwise this is great if you straighten your hair a lot or have really tangly hair.

My review is for AUTHENTIC K-Pak reconstructor (and if you don't get it from a salon/authorized dealer, you can't know if it's the real thing, honestly). It's tops in terms of protein treatments I've tried for my very dry, porous, color-treated hair. The real product is best used in a way that allows for at least 25 or more minutes of it with a processing cap and under a hood for heat or with a heat therapy cap. It MUST be followed by a deep conditioner for best results. This is not a conditioner. It's a reconstructor. The conditioner should FOLLOW.
If your hair is not happy with protein (coarse hair tends to react BADLY to a lot of protein), steer clear. But if you have fine hair or damaged/color-treated hair of medium texture or know your hair loves protein, try this. It's great. Gives softness and shine that lingers.

That's the only reason I gave it a 4 star rather than 5. The old stuff was easier to spray with and had a little better hold in my humble opinion. It's just my opinion and I know what I like so if you like firm and can't get the old Joico, get this one. It's certainly better than the JoiMist Firm, that's for sure.
